The Ethiopian Society of Chemical Engineers (ESChE) held its 25th Annual General Assembly at the Institute of Ethiopian Standards, serving as the concluding event of its 25th anniversary (silver jubilee) celebration program.

The Assembly brought together members and stakeholders from academia, industry, and research to review the Society’s annual progress, assess ongoing initiatives, and define strategic directions for the coming years. A key part of the session was the presentation of society reports, which highlighted achievements, ongoing projects, and institutional developments over the past year.

In addition, the Assembly included leadership elections and the assignment of new officials to guide the Society in its next phase. The newly appointed leadership is expected to strengthen ESChE’s organizational capacity, enhance collaboration with industry and academic institutions, and expand opportunities for members.

Discussions throughout the Assembly emphasized the importance of advancing chemical engineering practice in Ethiopia through stronger industry–academia linkages, increased research impact, and greater engagement of young professionals.

As ESChE concludes its silver jubilee celebrations, the Society reaffirms its commitment to innovation, professional excellence, and driving sustainable development through chemical engineering.
