The Ethiopian Society of Chemical Engineers (ESChE) is the leading professional society representing over 2,000 chemical engineering practitioners across Ethiopia. Established in 1995, ESChE plays a vital role in advancing chemical engineering education, strengthening industrial capacity, and supporting national development through technical expertise, collaborative research, and professional training.

Role Overview

ESChE is seeking a proactive and organized Training & Capacity Building Officer to support the society’s mission of enhancing the skills and capabilities of chemical engineering professionals. The officer will design, coordinate, and evaluate training programs, workshops, and seminars across the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement professional training programs for members and partner organizations.
  • Coordinate workshops, seminars, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Identify training needs through consultations with industry, academia, and government stakeholders.
  • Manage training logistics, budgeting, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Work closely with the Research & Innovation team on technical content development.
  • Maintain strong communication with regional chapters and student chapters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience in training coordination, project management, or capacity building.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with universities, industries, and research institutions.
  • Passion for professional development and national capacity-building.
